96 Cherokee water pump

I have a 96 Jeep Cherokee and twice now i've had to replace the water pump because the water pump blades litterally erroded and it ended up looking like a blender blade. The first sign I saw was the coolant turned a dark rust color and then a couple of months later the jeep would start to over heat. Does anyone know how or why this would happen?

HI, SOUNDS LIKE THE PUMPS ARE DEFECTIVE DO YOU USE A LUBRICANT WHEN REPLACING THE PUMPS. YOU SHOULDUSE ONE ALSO MIX YOUR ANTI FREEZE 1/2 GAL. ANTI-FREEZE TO A 1/2 GAL. DISTILLED WATER DISTILLED WATER CUTS THE CALICUM BUILD UP. I USE DISTILLED WATER BOTH FOR BATTERIES & RADIATORS. QUESTIONS GIVE A HOLLER PUMPS SHOULD BE UNDER WARRANTY DALE
