Just got back from holiday and sitting here waiting for me is a Tamiya Opel from HLJ.

THIS IS A AWESOME KIT. !!!!

Just finished looking though it all and the paint will be tricky to do as it's 2 colours. The gull doors are attached with very tiny screws that allow them to be opened.
No motor though.
The detail is fantastic. All parts are well molded with hardly any mold lines.
Heaps of small decals to add but dont look to major
Cant wait to get started on it. May have to break all my modelling rules and put the R32 back in the box !!

Glad you finally got it!

I saw that kit at the model shop today and I have to say it looked nice. When you mentioned the gull wing doors and then proceeded to mention the motor, I thought you meant that their was no motor for the gull wing doors! :silly2: Is this the car that supposedly was a concept, but 25 people said that they had to have one regardless of cost?

P.S. I have lots of good pics of the racing version if you need reference! ;)

Actually, they are from EVO magazine. I don't mind scanning them if you would like them, tho. Just let me know what you want and when.

Well, I've flipped through the EVO issue again and it turns out that the Astra is the Vauxhall racing Version. BTCC (whatever that means). It does have some really good shots of the interior, but I'm afraid that that might be all you could use Warren. Sorry! :(

You still want 'em? They're of the Vauxhall Astra BTCC. If you still do just let me know.

4x4 Cactus: There's an article in that EVO issue on the road version. I think it's a Vauxhall version, but we'll see.

You could check out the official Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters site at

http://www.dtm.de/index.htm

Again, it's in German but there maybe something useful on there. These guys all drive like nutters and they are coming over here in May, can't wait!!
