What are the best front strut bar and rear strut bar and lower tie bars? Im thinkin of getting Neuspeeds front strut bar... good idea?

The Neuspeed front is the best. The rest of the bars are all the same.

BENEN!!! But I'd say any 3 point front strut that doesn't use hinges are good.

I have a Neuspeed upper front bar. I'd say it probably one of the best out there since it's ONE piece, and not hinged or multi-piece like most others out there. Honestly though, you'd be MUCH better off with getting swaybars instead. A rear swaybar is the best to start with first. More worth the money, and it'll really eliminate a lot of body roll in your car. Strut/tie bars DON'T take away body roll.

I made my own solid bar for the rear. Works great.

I've been meaning to get a Spoon front strut myself. Right now what I have is one of those generic Taiwan ones, which isn't bad really.

:iagree: 100%. Upper strut bars & lower ties are like icing to a cake, the last thing added since they are more visual than function. Sway bars on the other hand are 100% for function, although I'm sure APC will have some junk hollow sways out soon . . . clear with lights inside:disappoin:disappoin:disappoin:disappoin:dis appoin:sly:

Tie bars are over rated. If you want ultimate and maximum stiffening, you gotta BRACE it!

I got rid of my POS generic bolt and hinge style Arospeed rear lower tiebar, and I'll be soon replacing it with a solid one piece Cusco rear lower tiebar. ANY strut or tie type bars I have on my car are one piece, there's no point to a strut/tie bar if it isn't.

Unfortunately the front H-brace you see in the pic above, will bump me out of STS class in auto-X and into SM2... :uhoh:

I've been thinking about one of those or a new front crossmember http://www.mmrusa.com/dsrcrossmember.htm

I think it was Neuspeed who made a rear upper/lower tie 1 piece brace, all solide went through the trunk floor.

let me get this str8 guys......i was reading this in hopes to get the answer that ca2822 was looking for. upper strut/tie bars have nothing to do with performance or handling...correct?? if i want to get better handling of my car i should get a rear sway bar instead? so then....this might be a stupid question and will probably upset some people in here....what will be the purpose of spending money on upper strut/tie bars?? just looks?? if its just looks, then that answers my question and i will go out and purchase a cheap set of strut/tie bars and get a good rear sway bar instead.

They aren't totally for looks. They do have functions, but they won't give the results that most look for. If you want to eliminate or lessen bodyroll, then a strut/tiebar isn't going to help you out on that. It just ties together points of the body and chassis, to help it move as one and not flex as much, which CAN in turn yield better handling performance given you have things already inplace such as swaybars and a GOOD (not crap $100 coil sleeves) shock/spring or true coilover setup. But I stress this, it all depends on what your suspension setup is composed of and such. Remember, what works for me may not work for you.

BTW for those wondering, the H-brace in my pic in this thread only set me back $65 from www.robearracing.com ;) That's even cheaper that a standard front tiebar would have cost me, or a rear one for that matter. WELL worth it IMO, it keeps my front wheels planted better to the ground I've noticed so far.

When I added my strut bar it basically tightened the steering up. I probably wasn't pulling a higher g-force in turns but it made my car more responsive and controllable.

In the straights, right? That's what I noticed with mine as well.

The biggest difference I noticed was at idle, the car didn't vibrate as much.
