I'm buying a TSI AWD w/ 70,000 miles and it's manual tranny already blew once. :-/

Of course he was pushing an excess of 400whp. So I dunno exactly if thats a good sign or not... :D

A working W5M33 transmission has no problems. This should answer your question, but is half obvious by nature. If the question is do they break easily, then no, but having AWD and abusing it WILL break your transmission/differential/transfer case.

Is the W5M33 transmission what is that auto or manual transmission

JoeWagon

5, 5 speed, M manual
W4A33 is auto, 4 speed.

how about W4A33 is that a good transmission or does it have problems.

JoeWagon

seriously, those kind of general questions are unanswerable. both transmissions are perfectly fine.

My brother works for mitsubishi, and there are no NT tranny problems I am aware of. Just a couple rebuilds here and there on high mileage cars (~150k)

my 99gst is a AT. the auto tran is a little laggy tho. and according to mechanic, they're not the best in the world. but so far i haevn't ran into any problems. (knock on wood)

i would say they could be stronger.

intimidator2000
05-25-2004, 05:36 PM
Does the gs and gst have the same transmission.

What do you mean that the transmission could stronger what is exactly is weak

youngvr4

well basically you hear of eclipse/talon trannies going out pretty often. mine did as well but i also did do some abuse to it, meaning it was mostly my fault. well if you drive the car like your suppose to the trannie is fine but if you start racing and what not then begins wear and tear and is likley to brake. meaning it could be stronger for having fun purposes, but hey.

I have a gs, the syncros are GONE in it. The trans. went out as soon as I bought it. I have to get all new syncros, new 2nd gear and a new clutch. This it 2nd time for the tran  s. NOT GOOD!

Can the auto transmission hold some boost.

RiceRocket18
05-25-2004, 07:38 PM
i doubt you'l run into any problems with boost with AT. mine runs just fine. 16psi hehe!

The purpose of forums is not for the knowledgable members to wait hand and foot on the new guys. It is a resource. You dont ask other resources questions, you read them. Dictionaries, encyclopedias, text books, etc :D The right thing to do is search first, ask questions later. We are here to help, but its nice when the person puts forth a little effort first. ;) Laziness wont get you far...

Search the damn 1000AAQ (in the READ FIRST BEFORE POSTING thread) it shows all the answers.

intimidator2000

damn take it easy you could tell me that The 1000AAQ's has it in a better way than being so damn rude.

JoeWagon

I'm not here to answer dumb questions like 'what transmission is in what car'. Do you know why? It's because I spent a shitload of time putting together ways for people like you to find information for yourself. It's in the thread called 'READ FIRST' but it should be called "DONT POST DUMBASS QUESTIONS THAT HAVE BEEN ANSWERED 1000 TIMES". Have a nice day.

If you would have done what you were supposed to in the first place, you wouldn't need to ask people these questions.

intimidator2000

IF YOU HAD TOLD ME THAT THE 1000AAQ I WOULD HAVE CHECKED IT THAT WOULD BE THE END BUT POSTING SUCH DUMBASS COMMENTS WON'T GET YOU FAR. HAVE NICE DAY

Don't do something wrong, then bitch about me telling you what your mistake was. Learn and don't do it again. If you think I'm being rude, it's probably true. YOU DIDN'T FOLLOW THE RULES so dont complain if I call you an idiot for it.

Here's what you did: You asked multiple random newbie questions wasting everyone's time. If you want to ask dumb questions, find someone that wants to answer them. All the informational people on the board (there are lots of you) are busy people. If you expect us to bother with you, you are asking too much.

I gave people like you an opportunity to find the information yourself so these questions don't happen. Why would you ask a question when the answer is already stickied?

I'm rude? Read this. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=73758&postcount=1
Also, check out what happens to people like you on other boards:
http://www.teamnabr.com/pubforums/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=10;t=000074

P.S. You are the one that made the mistake. Don't try to report this post so I get in trouble, dude.

intimidator2000

You where acting like a idiot and you know it so don't keep bitching to me and posting stupid links trying prove why you where right.

If you think I am going to waste anymore of my time reading and responding to your dumbass comments telling me why you are right then you are asking too much.

I would give you a link that shows what happens to people like you on other boards, not wasting my time on a dumbass.

If I report this you will get in trouble so who is wrong. dude

Keep wasting your time posting why your right acting like an idiot. BYE
