How Many Of You Have Built...

...Muscle Trucks? Muscle wha? You ask. Well, it should have an engine that would make others run home and cry to their mommy. The truck (if real) would perform like a muscle car, ya know, ease on the pedal and get assloads of smoke. It can be in any truck. Slammed, Lifted 4wd, or sleeper. Your average muscle truck should have a v8. No turbo or TT 6, or big turbo 4. A large, powerful V8 is what makes this a muscle truck.

I just want to get an idea of how many people have built, considered building, or are in the process of building one of these pavement pounders that can still haul stuff in the back? I'm very close to completing my 454SS Muscle Truck and was thinking of starting a "MUSCLE TRUCKS ONLY" thread.

What about rocket powered trucks? You know the ones that are powered by the Apache Cobra Jet engines.

No dice. It has to be able to haul things in a bed. And no, hauling the jet engine isn't acceptable.

You get a frozen steak at the store. Put it in the bed. Drive home and as soon as your home you have a perfectly well-done steak to eat.

Mike. That could work. But, I don't like my steak SUPER CRISPY! It's got to be able to haul a sheet of plywood the dimensions of its bed (LxWxD) while keeping it in the bed.

One of my favorite modelling subjects. :naughty: I have about 8 different GM C1500 trucks sitting upstairs. Two projects are currently underway: an LT-1 powered c1500 shortbox with widened tubs to fit some ferrari F40 meats. i'm thinking about ditching the engine in favor of a TPI big block. :evillol: The other truck is a mildly lowered 454ss which will have fat low profile tires on the stock rims, and perhaps an underhood blower. I also have a crazy pro-street dually that's just been started. I need to finish some of these soon!

what about curbside muscle trucks

I don't think a curbside would work? Then it just be a sport truck I think. I build the Revell Ford Lightning F-150 motor and put it in the extended cab version of the truck and turned it into a prerunner. It can still tow/haul, so it is a muscle truck no?

I have built 2.
One isn't really a pick-up truck, but the WagonRod comes with an Lt-4 out of a ZR-1 with airbag suspension and really big meats on all 4 corners. But it isn't really a pick-up.

I also built a 1955 Chevy stepside.
I know you mentioned no TT, but what if it were a TT302 from a Z28?

Had something like 275 tires on all 4 corners.
Was a nice looking truck when all done....
