wiring lamps

okay when i got my car it was wired like crap, and my blinkers and lamps stopped working. honda did like an hour of electrical work, got the blinkers going, said it needed a few more hours of electrical rewiring to be back to normal. does anyone know any online resources that could explain the basics of wiring? i wanna go and work on this myself, and have really been wanting to learn wiring skills like this, but i'm afraid if i dont' get a basic background in proper wiring it'll end up like when the last kid wired it and fail again after a short while

need a good ground maybe that's why it's been shorting out.

just do web searches or your local nerdy ass library and search on topics such as " fundamentals of wiring " or electricty and so forth....you can also check out the sites of manufacturers of projection lamps and so forth and look at thier wiring diagrams..this too may help you understand on a technical note...but this is all on a technical note ! simple wiring is just knowing how and where to make good grounds..which gauges of wire are needed fo which kinds of work and how switches and relays operate..check out that info and youll be well on your way...oh yeah and a wirecrimp tool..cant forget the obvious

well, i tried looking through search engines. damn, there's so much garbage out there. people should be shot for the worthless stuff they put online. library? not likely, but prolly good idea for others. i actually found what i'm gonna do, maybe this can help others. i looked through my haynes, which couldn't help much, but people on a different forum told me that Helm's has a manual just on electricity. gonna go for that, gonna check autozone and pepboys. online was bits and pieces, but it's not worth reading like 10 pages for every 1 page of relevant info.

oh al bundy- thanks for the tip, but i wanna do it safe and assure it's gonna last for the life of the car, so i plan on totally just ripping out all the wires and re installing them myself, both to learn, and in the process clearing up whatever the probs were before (ie i'm not gonna trouble shoot, just start from scratch)

well the aforementioned idea is retarded on many levels. i have since bought the haynes automotive electrical manual, read it multiple times, bought a digital multimeter, and spent hours outside on the car. results? lots and lots of frustration. i have gotten nowhere and no matter how many times i re read the sections in the book or try to use the meter, i don't really know what i'm looking for. now i've wasted money and lots of time, and am prolly gonna end up having to go have honda do it. nothing worse than putting so much effort into something and not completing it
