fluttering bov

I have read other posts about the fluttering and now i have it also...it happens when i boost then shift with only about 3K rpm. Is this bad for this to happen. Do i need to loosen the bov (Greddy Type S).

It will happen on stiffer valves at part throttle lift, or lifting at partial boost. As long it it opens fully at full throttle/full boost shifts. If you dont like it, you can loosen up the BOV if its adjustable (it is in your case, but you may or may ont have more range), just be sure its not so soft it leaks when you pressure test it (test up to the boost level you run at).

I'm having an problem with my car and it sounds like a "fluttering" bov. I still have the stock bov on my 2g. When I floor it, I hit full boost (13 psi) at around 5k RPMs and my car makes a whistling sound. When I shift, I don't get the same whoosh sound I used to; its more of a weak hiss.

I'd rather not spend any unnecessary money so I'm hoping that someone might know of a fix I could try.

I posted my numbers to see if they are comparable with anyone else running a stock car. I just came home to FL from college in MA and when I last drove the car, I didn't have this problem. I'm planning on driving it up up to Boston next Saturday so I'm trying to excise all the demons before my road trip. Thanks for any help.

Well Dragon, it's commonly said that the stock 2g BOV's are pieces of shit, so my suggestion would be to just buy a new one =)
(the greddy type-s is a very good and popular one).

IF your 2g BOV is shot,and you dont ant to upgrade for whatever reasons, I might still have my stocker. You can have it for a 6 of Hieneken if you're willing to drive out and pick it up. I live about 30-40 mins from boston. Or perhaps I could look at it for you and see if its somethig else, but that will be a longer ride out to my garage. Either way, good luck on the long trip. :)
