replaced head unit, now speakers are distorted...??

i recently had my head unit replaced, and now my speakers have static after a certain volume, if i take a corner wrong, so forth. i then rewired the headunit, and it helped a little, but i'm still having a lot of problems. could this be because of a faulty speaker?? thanks

Does the static and distortion come through all your speakers? Did your vehicle have a factory Monsoon system?

You said after a certain volume, So you have to remember that just about any aftermarket HU you put in is going to have a lot more power than the factory deck (unless its a monsoon?) It could just be too much for the factory speakers.. But static when taking corners is tellin' me that you've got a loose connections in the HU harness or speakers themselves..

Its already been asked, but what speakers is the noise coming from? aall of them?

when it is staticy, it does come from all of the speakers. when i had first put the unit in, i had it up pretty loud, with no problem. after that, it started becoming staticy. i rewired it, like i sed, and it helped a little.

It its coming from all the speakers, that narrows your problem down to something in the HU itself, or in the HU's main wires (power, ground, memory) I can only say check all your conections again.. Make sure its making good ground.. Is it a new HU? Could it be faulty?

Do you have a monsoon system? or are your speakers run off amps? or just the HU

i have a sony cdx m630. i bought it and put it in my firebird last march. i bought my camaro, and pulled the unit out of the firebird. i just put the unit in the camaro like 3 weeks ago. i'm going to take it somewhere to get it checked

thanks. i tried wiring my subs & amp, and that didn't work to well, either. so when i have it taken in to have the connections checked, i'll have em hook up my stereo, too

Did you bypass the factory amplifier when you wired the new head unit? If not the speaker level being your input probably is frying the factory amplifier. Not to mention that Monsoon systems are also crossover'd. That could also be causing you some shit. Best bet would be to get the stereo checked out...if its ok...buy replacement speakers and rewire the whole thing.

yeah the other post should help.. I have a friend who has bose system in his maxium and it does the same thing even after bypassing the factory amp. When you by the byspass kit they tell you that it doesnt always work on all cars. Werid aint it. BUt like GO Bears said you should just replace all the factory speakers and stuff... If the distortion is coming from one side for now adjust your balance a little. I am also asuming you dont have a crossover to your mids and highs.. that will help to. That way you wont fry your speakers. When or if you replace add another amp crossover for mid highs and lows a cap and make sure your amp is the right one for your subs.. to much or to little wrong class amp can cause damge.. Hope this helps..

OH yeah turning your radio to high without a good setup will cause your speakers to blow or in other words they will become distorted.. Check to make sure all the wires are secure from the speaker thats making noise.. If you want to keep them in just rewire the whole car...

Well dude, u might have reverse polerity. it is when u put the + were the - is supposed to go and that will cause that to happen. Also u might just have the + touching the - when u go around a corner LOL
give that a try
