96 accord header

my 96 accord has a rusted flex pipe in the exhause system, so to "fix" it i decided to get a catback exhaust...my question is should i go ahead and get new header now since i am starting to mod my car? im mainly wanting performance and a quality sound (+hp!!!!!), but want to know if its worth the extra $$$$$....also, has anyone heard of Tsudo Performance and are they a good brand to put on????

A header is one of the easiest and best performance gainers for your car. You will get a little more exaust noise from the engine compartment, but it sounds like you want your car to be semi loud anyway. I don't know about many import manufatures, but when buying a header spend the extra cash to get a ceramic coated one. This will keep your under hood heat down and is well worth the extra cash in the long run.

if i do replace the header and exhaust, then decide to perform an engine swap for a h22a, then will the header be useless?

Call the manufacures tech line and they should be able to tell you.

The manufacure of the hedder. They will have a tech line on the back of the catolog or on line.

i heard that ceramic was not all that great because they might rust from the inside and crack the ceramic coating? is there any real chance of this happening?

This might happen if you go with a black market crap header, or if your header is under extream heat conditions from a very, very high horsepower engine. I have never have problems with ceramic headers and I am a full believer in them. Good looks - less heat.

why not a stainless steel header? they are more expensive than ceramic and im a big believer in "you get what you pay for." so wouldnt the stainless be better? im thinking of going with DC sports header (stainless) with a Magnaflow dual-exit catback exhaust....

This sounds like a nice header. Honestly I have never used a stainless steel header before. I would assume that stainless steel is a more expesive metal to produce. The only thing that would consern me when I go to buy a header is... How much extra heat is it going to produce. It sucks when you have a nice fast car that begins to overheat or emits acess under hood heat when it is 100 degrees outside. I am sure that there are may good options for various makes and models out there, I just happen to have experiance with ceramic headers. Get a few opinions, research, ask a sales rep, live and learn.
