Help needed over installation

Alright, I'm in the process of installing the CDA9827 into my 96 Honda Civic EX, so I took the console apart and everything and got the retaining screws out and got the stock radio out and everything. So now, I attempt to put in the Alpine CD player just to see how it would look in the DIN slot, but, the CD player wouldn't come back out of the slot... it seems as though it's stuck on one of the sides, and it seems there's NO WAY IN HELL to get it out... period. I bet by all the prying the cd players trash now, and I'm wondering how in the hell it would fit with the din kit, I didn't even have that in the slot when installing the cd player and it got stuck, and help thanks.

have any of the tabs on the sleeve bent out? that would make it stick on one side

Yes, that was what it was... took a while to get them all unbent, and then it came out, hopefully the cd player isn't damaged... ill have to see when i get the metra wiring harness in.
