it depends on the ohms of the woofers. you need to get an amp that can push 200 watts rms at the recomended ohms of your subs.

I answered your question on that other post, but you'll want an amp that can push either 200 watts, or more, RMS x 2 at 2ohms or a D class amp that can push 400 watts or more at 1 ohm.

another question, i'm getting the Alpine SPS-170A's for my front deck but, crutchfield tells me they wont fit and circuit city tells me they will.they will fit right? this goes for the SPS-690A's too.

the 170s will fit. If anything you might have a depth problem, but 2.25" isn't that deep. As for the 690s, 6th gen civics come with 6x9's in the rear deck right? If so, the only worry would be depth again. You might hit the trunk springs with these speakers.

2.25"? will it be hitting something or will it be hanging? and for the back is that something to worry about?

if you do have a depth problem with those door speakers, more than likely it'll be from the window hitting the speaker basket inside the door when you roll the window down. You can always make a small spacer to cure the problem though.
As for the trunk springs, that is something to worry about. If they hit the trunk springs, well, that means they won't fit without modifying something. You could remove your trunk springs, but then the trunk won't hold it self open, or you could again make some spacers to raise the speaker, but I think that would look funny on the rear deck.

are those dimesions for the doors and rear deck or the speakers? The 170s are 2.25" deep, so you might have a bit of a problem with them, but you shouldn't have to worry about the rear deck.

thats what's available for "easy fit speakers" according to crutchfield

well, I say buy them anyways. making spacers for your door speakers isn't hard at all. And you have more than enough room in that rear deck for the 6x9's. 1/8th of an inch isn't much, those 170's may fit in there without any sort of hassle.

p.s. about the spacers, will they do does when they install em at no extra charge?

probably not, but if they charge you more than $20-30 to make spacers and put them in there for you, tell them to shove it in their ass.
