Hey everyone...
I've got a 2003 2500HD 6.0 Shortbed. I've been noticing some transmission problems lately, even with only 14k miles so far. Under normal driving conditions (with some stop & go rush hour traffic), the transmission guage heats up to between 175-200 degrees. When I first bought the truck it only went to about 125 tops. Also, the shifting seems a little sluggish (not like the firm, crisp shifting driving off the dealer lot :p). Has anyone else noticed this problem and does anyone have any suggestions. I haven't towed anything lately, for fears that I burn up the tranny. Any hints on TSB's or proof that I can take to a dealer mechanic, because after three trips, no one can seem to "duplicate the problem". Hope you guys can hlep!!!!!
Thanks,
Rob

Are you running the A/C excessively when you experience the high tranny temps??? I have noticed in mine, when the A/C is used to high ambient temperatures, the trans temp will rise due to the A/C condensor heating the cooling air to the radiator. Something to think about. GP
