first thing, gotta recover (empty) the system, and pull a vacum on it. then take off the accesory drive belt, remove the bolts holding on the compressor, remove the bolt holding the compressor to the AC lines, and pull the fucker out. well, after disconnecting the electrical connectors, there should be two. then it should drop right out. add 60ml (2 oz) of PAG oil to the new compressor, and reverse the directions.

????? dont have a fourth gen handy to check lol, but i wouldnt think you would have to remove either of those things. it is cramped. i would suggest removing the fan shroud and all the plastic pannels in front of what youre working on. all you should have to remove if im thinking right is the bolts that hold the compressor on, nothing else. but a fourth gen owner here will have to say if im right or wrong. as far as recovering the system, there is a tool for that, it is illegal to vent that into the athmosphere on purpose, so the dealership will have to use the AC machine to recover any refridgerent left in the system. oh and i havent asked, why you puttin yourself through all this again?

I have the Alt off to give me some more room , i wish i had my digital camera on me, and i wish napa didnt close at 4 on sat.
