fox body info..

hey guys.. i've just about had enough of it here and i NEED to get out. i know i posted a thread before of all this crap, so i won't waste your time with it again.. i just need some info..

if i was to buy a cheap fox body(in CDN, as in under 1k) what would i beable to get for the best of my money, i know you really get what you pay for and stuff as far the way it looks and runs, but i'm not to worried about that. i just need something fast. i'll admit that 90% of all my mustang knowledge is in the 60s area so in the fox bodys is the GT the best? whats the fastest year? whats the weight diffrence of a coupe and a hatchback? and how much computer stuff is on these types if cars?

I would suggest about a '89 Lx coupe 5.0. They have the same 302HO as the GT with a little lees weight. Also '89 was the first year they came with mass I beleive, so you can make a few more upgrades a little cheaper as far as upgrading to 1.7 rockers ect. Where I beleave in say a '87 you would have to buy a mass air conversion kit and all that good expensive stuff.

well to tell the truth if i can't stay here anymore (i'm trying man.. i really am) then i was gonna look for a hatchback.. maybe an 88GT, but they seem to be the most expensive.. but like i said before i really don't care. just with the fox bodies i much perfer the hatchback... anyone know what the avg. weight of the FB are?

The speed density cars in stock form have a little more power than the mass ait ones, but if you are ging to put mods on the car, you will need a mass air Stang.

Your question real is nor fair, because every car will have a different history, so its pretty much a crap shoot. Just make sure you take a buddy or two when looking at them, they might see something you miss.

yea, your right, i was rushing threw them yesterday...

i don't have any buddies here, so i'm by myself of this one. so what your saying is to shoot for is a LX hatchback with mass air?
I know my cars, just not much about the 79+ mustang..

is there any one spot that i should look for for rust or that brakes easy? such as in the early mustangs the cowl would rust and rot very easy over the span of 36+years. is it the same way with the "newer" ones?

I have been looking at Foxes for the past couple of weeks, need something different now. There's a lot of shit out there that people are asking too much for. Each car is different and will tell a different story of who drove it and how.

I don't want to get off topic here but what cars did the 5.0 H.O. come in? I thought my 89 GT had the regular 5.0?

i have a 90 gt and its got a 5.0 HO. if u want the fastest foxB get a 89lx coupe. but if u like the hatch get a 89-93 lx hatch. the older the less weight because the factory adds little things here and there throughout the years. 89 doesnt have air bag as an example.
