Progress- PROJECT RAV4

Well i am starting a new project, or rather begining a old 1. Its a rav4. I shaved everything, cut open the doors and removed the rear half of the roof! it has integra tail light and reshaped rear wheels wells! :smokin:

this 1 is also going to sit this low also! Not sure on the colors yet, any ideas on a 2 tone. Heres the low down on what i see in my head for this thing. Its going to have a Hawiian feel to it. I picture it sitting on the beach with a couple of surf boards standing against it. I know i will have hawiian flowers in the grafix on the outside and in the stitching in the interior! I was thinking along the lines of white/bright red, or white/bright green, or like a white/electric blue! The wheels in the pictures are what i am defanitly whats is going on it! i am in the process of cutting open the 2 grils in the front to make room for the scratch built billet grills! Will have a tube frame and wild suspension! As for a motor, not sure. The kit is a curbside and i have already opened the doors so opening the hood would be a real pain in the a-- because of how flimsy it is! Any suggestions? Thanks for the comments! I know its a uncommon truck to mod like this and it has a general funny look to it but thats what attracts me to build it even more!

put it in satan black , that will look hot, also do u have atutorial on how to make those exact hinges for the doors? i need it , im kinda desparate for it , will that hinges set up also work with a trunk?

Custom... why... how... THATS AWESOME! How the ____ (<insert word of choice there) did i miss this? I've a question tho. What's the theme of this truck? I mean, what's going under the hood and stuff? Is it going to be bangin body droped pickup with a kikass interior? Or will we see some ice? I'm interested in this sucka now. I think i might do soemthing similar with the umm, what's it called? LOL thanks man! Its gonna have a hawaiian theme. Going to have 2 scratch built boogie boards in the back. They will be on a angle fron the very back top edge of the truck up to the back edge of the roof. No ICE on this 1. Its going to be, how should i say this. Not a show truck, but a pimp daddy daily driven baech cruiser that can go to shows and win trophies! LOL I think the color will be like a misty blue, with a sunset mural on the back, wraping around the sides to the back of the rear wells. Will have hawaiian flowers in the paint and interior somehow! For the final pics(If it ever gets finished!LOL) will be of it at Seista beach, here in sunny sarasote, fl. Voted 1 of the softest and white-est beaches in the world! thnx for paying attn. to my builds!

I cut the hole in the hood and used styrene to build the tops and side. But I didnt build the motor first to test fit the motor clearence. It fits, but by less than a mm.! so build the motor first!

Well, I started doing a little work on the frame today! I said last week to a friend that my next aluminum frame would be fully adjustable! Well, its going to be. There are 2 pics, not much to look at. Just wanted to show more progress. This is just the begining of the front control arm set-up. Control arms will attatch to what you see!

Kool. Gona have to rethink that front suspension tho. It looks good, but could use some more thought. cuz u shouldnt have to sink it that much into the wheel well for straight wheels.

I have more updates! Made the air cylinders, fixed the camber problem as close as i can get it.

In this next pic, you can kinda see how I made the air cylinders. The pistons are showing movement with 1 being up and 1 being down. The styrene is the body of the cylinder.

most likely either a motor from a D50 or a ranger. Leaning toward the ranger motr. (thats what i have mostly painted!)

Well, I am glad to announce that the suspension is done! I do have to take apart the rear end again, because the wheel base is off a tad. I will just cut the 4link bars a tiny bit!
