Vinyl headliner

I brought some vinyl fabric for my 300zx. I was looking for the black suede/velour fabric it originally had brought couldn't find it, so I'm going with vinyl. My question is: what kind of glue/adhesive should I use sticking the (heavy) vinyl to the headliner backing? I bought some tacking glue, but don't know if that is good enough.
