Need a safe place to store items.

A friend told me that you could get a metal cover of sorts that goes behind the rear seat. It bolts in so no one can get in the compartment unless you open the back door. I want to install some subs but I'm afraid that someone might steal them because I have a soft top.

I have a 2door '94 Geo Tracker.

i had 2 10's in the back of my tracker , i had the box bolted down with 4 grade 8 bolts that i put through the floor and had locking nuts on the other side , someone still took the damn speakers , they just torr the box apart to get them , not much you can do when you have a soft top , you might can check around a couple of the jeep web sites and see if they make something that you could use

What about an alarm. Are they any good at really keeping bad people away?

they will keep away most people , but some can get in and out fast and most people dont pay attention to alarms anyways , try to find one that comes with a pager that lets you know when it goes off
