so i bought that lt1 motor but i have one thing i cant figure out what to do
should i get rid of optispark and go carburated allowing me to put a raised manifold with a air scoop or should i stay with fuel injection?
now i know fuel injection will be much more precise
heres the thing though with the motor i pull out to put the newly rebuilt one in i am going to rebuild that one for a 1st gen camaro possibly so should i have that one be the carb one or my 4th gen i could always do both carbed or bothe fuel injected as well
opinions are greatly appreciated

ID keep it fuel injected. Theres lots of wiring kits ad stuff to swap new engines like that into older cars.

fuel injection is the way to go. Drivability is unbeatable when you have a computer to control your fuel and timing maps.

you can get more hp out of fuel injection but its harder to get it, and alot more expensive, carbs are alot eaiser to tune, and not expensive compared to f/i

half the reason to own a LT1 is its intake manifold, its a great design and one of the main reasons that it is a good motor. by changing to a carb set-up you would have to ditch the manifold, which would defeat the purpose of having an lt1 in my opinion. if u really want a carb set-up, then sell the lt1. but i would stay w/ the lt1. i wouldn't be too worried about the optispark, maybe an aftermarket one later on, but it won't hurt to stick w/ the stock one for a while.
