removal of balance shafts

i know its possible to remove the balance shafts on a 2.4 quad 4 but i know that some sort of kit is needed since the oil pump is geared into the balace shafts. any one else ever do this or know where i can get the kit. i've heard it supposed to add 15hp to the wheels. any one know for sure?
