Dear BMW Owners:
What do you do for the excessive BMW 5 series brake dust? I was searching the net, and I found these Wheel dust shields by The Kleen Company that can be found in their catalog for $35.38 for my 04 530i.
Has anyone every heard of these type of these Kleen brake shields, and if so, do they actually work? If not what do you suggest to keep the BMW brake dust problem down? :1zhelp:
Sincerely,
Presley348 :banghead:

have seen dust covers and they due help reduce dust but they also block air circulation around brake rotor for cooling of brakes, if you are sick of the brake dust you can try and find a set of ceramic pads.

owning a 540 and x5 I feel your pain. I went with ceramic on the 540 and the only solution for the x5 I was happy with (kinda) was washing it every other day...

But did the ceramic brake pads on your 540i keep the dust off, while keeping the BMW 5 series braking power intact? :smokin:

I changed to a big brake kit from brembo when I got my new wheels (my girlfriend was 'blindsided' by a fast moving curb) and decided to go with ceramic pads at that point, so I can't really comment on any change in braking power, though EBC, the company that I purchased them from, claims that they increase performance. There is definitely ALOT less dust.
