Ok...I did the parts request thing on there. I HOPE that works. Thank you for the link.

I'm so used to looking for Z car stuff.....I can find anything I want for them anytime I want cuz they're older cars. I have a feeling this will be a little harder because it's a newer car and there aren't as many lying around dead. I REAAAAAAAAALLY hope I can find a door somewhere and put it on so I don't have to go to a body shop or the dealership or something. If anyone knows any more links or info, please help. Thank you in advance.

www.subaruparts.com should be able to get a new one for less than a dealer

I'm trying to save money for another Z and I end up having to spend damned $400 for a door for a car that's NOT EVEN MINE....this blows ass.

Thank you for the link though. That is a last resort as of right now. Good to know I can get it without having to go to the dealer, but I still want to see if I can find it a little cheaper. I'd be stoked to find one somewhere in the range of ~$200-$250.

Alright......I found a door off a '99 Impreza for $150 bucks...but it's a diff color. Two questions...about how much do you think it would cost to have it painted and will a '99 door fit a '96 car? Looks like the same car.

All depends on the shops when it comes to paint, i'd think no more than $400 but i might be way off. The door fitting i dont know about.

Damn...$150 + $400 for paint. That's still a lot. I can probably get a new one for that much. I'm pretty sure it'll fit. I dunno if I'm going to buy it or not.

Thanks for the thoughts, though.

When my bumper got scratched on my '98 by some ass in a SUV, it cost $268 to color match and retouch it, $400 for a complete door sounds about right.

As for whether a 99 door will fit a 96, should be a pretty close match, maybe slightly different trim.

Dammit. This sucks. I just made an offer an a 86 300ZXT...the LAST thing I need to do it dump a bunch of money on this crap. This sucks. Thanks for the reply, though.

Ya, i was thinking of newer paint, forgot my car has pearl. Its harder to match. Ya, straight paint shouldnt cost too much.

I thought that sounded kinda high. I look into it. Thanks man.

the white paint shouldn't be hard to match and SHOULDN"T cost that much. You might be able to get it even less if you sand the current paint down yourself instead of having them do it. It's going to cost money still yet though, but if you hit it, ya just gotta bite the bullet and pay for it.

This whole situation kinda blows. I was planning on sanding and priming it in the hopes that it would save me some money. Plus, It's my best friend's car. I need to take the car to the body shop to see what they say, but I haven't seen the fucker in 3 or 4 days cuz he's disappeared with his girlfriend.
