help guys.. i just got my autometer boost gauge, and air fuel gauge along with a dual a-pillar pod. anyone here own those?... on the instruction it doesnt' say if you need to install LED yourself or it's already inside.. it did come with two (one green and one red) rubber cover thinging i dont' know what that's for. also there is a section where it talks about plugging the "Ferrule" to the adapter and sealing nut. as far as i can tell, it didn't come with anything that looks like a "ferrule" !!!... WTF. and no T-fitting too!! i am confused

OK!!.. so here is what i need to run out and buy now. a T-fitting and a connector that connects the boostgauge hose to the t-fitting. it says 1/8" connector on the manual. also some extra electrical wires. question is. those of you who done this befoer and own 2g. what's the size dimension of the vacume hose. so i know what size of T-fitting i need to get.

im not exactly sure of the size, but look at your intake manifold and see the size there, i personally put it closer the firewall. it isn't hard at all to install those, the hardest part, IMO is routing the wires to your parking lights so the gauges go on when u turn on your lights, unless you dont have indiglo gauges. the part that they gave me to install the hose with was shitty so i actually made my own out of copper fittings. if you have any other questions, you can email me if you need help :P

The "green and red rubber things" slip over the bulb to change the light color. DON'T use the shitty plastic "hose" autometer includes...but some vaccum line.

but how can i switch vacum hose while the entire gauge's components are setup to hook up with the nylon ones that came with it.

Mine came with a "nipple" that screwed into the back. Why can you only hook up the nylon?

here is a pic of the manual... all the components that came with it looks only as if it'll work with the nylon

Why not use the 1/8 NPT adapter? That is the real term for the "nipple" I was trying to name.

I would also like to add that the title "Emergency" should not point to a gauge install.

and here's some extra info... the 1/8" connector (or nipple) didn't come with the gauge, neither is the T-fitting.

I am being nice. :) I'm sure you've seen me get a little mean with folks before. ;)
Take the NPT fitting to the hardware store/NAPA/Advance/Auto Zone/etc and find the size hose that fits. Zip tie the hose connection, too.

I havent been following the whole thread, but I'll answer your last question. The hoses are all metric, but you can use the standard equivalents. All of the small stuff like the hoses coming of the throttle body and off the fuel pressure reg for example are 3/16ths. The larger size used on the BOV is 1/4. The really large one used on the Brake booster is 3/8ths. And while I'm at it, msot of the turbo cooling lines or lines that size are 3/8ths, and the heater lines are 5/8ths.
