My friend has some late 80's firebird with a 305. I've seen him at street races, and I know he is quite a bit slower then me. WE were at Jack in the Box, adn he said that he may get beat from a dig but he would beat me on the highway :screwy: So I tell him to put his money where his mouth is, but he doesn't want to bet or even race period. I even told him I'd take a passenger with me.
Eventually we leave , and I lure him onto the freeway. Right before you get on though there is a stop light, and to my liking it's red. I get the worst launch I could possibly get , and he jumps out a half car. It wasn't long enough before I had a car and a half lead by about 80.
Up ahead there is a sweeping right , and I take it with no trouble, but then I see his lights turn toward my car. I look in my rearview, and his is spinning around on the freeway because he lost control. I slowed down to make sure he didn't hit the gaurdrail, but luckily he didn't hit it.
I should have know better to race someone who didn't even know how to park their car much less race. On the way back we do a little 45mph run, and he nearly sideswipes me.

That's one thing about street racing...you just have to becareful who you race and how they race...i've seen people get beat up and shot at because they won a street race...scary but you know...the thrill of just racing for those few minutes you can never come around to again.

:1: The only time Id do it is for money and when im assured that I will have enough time to get away from them before they can spin into my car :icon16:

yeah but why challenge someone who doesnt know what their doing? even for money. If that person dies because they crash, you can be held accountable for man slaughter, thats a really STUPID risk to take.

Street racing or racing is a risk to take. Challenge someone who doesnt know what their doing to teach by trial and error...he tries and pays for it, literally

but if you were caught racing with him. you get into just as deep of trouble as he does. ( even if he is dead )

Obviously, you would get in trouble if you were caught racing with or without someone dying.

what were you driving? and how did he get sidways in the first place? those 305's didn't have enough power to go sideways at speeds of anything above 20

They took a turn. And his rear tires slid out. Which slid the car sideways.

and you raced him a second time, after you watched him lose it?
to me, it doesn't sound like it was an uber serious deal at the restaurant (i use that word loosely, i know about JITB)...
so it was just fun from the outset...
you're lucky you were in front of him, seems like a real ass...
for the ultimate good time...
find someone you really dislike, and have them race this kid, then he'll trash THEIR car! not yours...

Granted I do deserve ridicule. As for the second run I thought he could handle a straight race, but apparently not. Lesson certainly learned however that not everyone can handle their cars even if it is only a 305.
