Ann Landers. I enjoy being a friend. I don't mind helping out from time to time with problems. But I don't like being Ann Landers 24/7.

If you want people to quit asking you advice, simply tell them the truth.

Pretend you're a guy. Tell them that its tough shit, get over it and move on. They wont be coming back for more advice anytime soon.

I've never heard of Ann Landers but I get the picture.Sorry D, but it is in your nature to be kind and helpful. But if you need some respite from this self - inflicted curse, try saying exactly what first comes into your head when asked for advice...It's the guy way of doing things and nobody ever hears of an agony uncle, right?
Yogs and Enginerd said pretty much the same thing, but that's another guy thing..if we are asked for advice we usually pinch someone elses!

I've got this friend who is always asking me the stupidest questions about guys. Like 'cause I'm a guy I'm supposed to be a friggin' expert on 'em (groan  ). Then I remind her that she's intelligent and confident enough to make her own decisions about shit like this (sigh  ). So then she comes to this striking revelation (OH YEAH!! ) every time, and always says "I love you; you're my brother" (I'm not really, she's just like my little sister).
:) It's all good. I wouldn't mind if it wasn't always like the same foolish questions based on insecurity (which really irks me because she's far from insecure - she just chooses to act that role of the damsel in distress). She's a great friend, but back to the point of this post, I wish it wasn't always about the stupid advice about guys.
Now: BITCHING = DONE!! :D

Twins again... I know what you mean.
When people won't let up on the advice columnist, I tell them that quite frankly, I don't have time to deal with their problems right now. I have my own life to contend with at the moment, and I will be available to spit out Chinese fortune cards again when I get ME sorted out.
Most of the time they realize that they can wait. Good luck!
