Galant VR4 or Talon TSI

Okay, I'm selling my '95 Eclipse GS-T because of the FWD grip problems and I'm either going to buy a Galant VR4 or an AWD Talon. The Talon will be a 2g but I'm still unsure. Somebody give me some advice on this please. I know the Galant VR4 is nasty and the Awd Talon is sick too, but I might buy a GSX if I can save up some more cash. Any input by anybody would be appreciated. I'm definitely staying with a DSM though. It's time to start raping the SRT-4.

I'd even rather have a 1g T/E/L over a gVR4. They are respectable vehicles but I think the others look better. In that regard, the Eclipse > Talon for looks, but if you get an Eclipse for looks, it better be a 97-99. If I got another DSM right now it would be LandoAWD's car, a 6 bolt laser.

when i saw vr4 i was hoping you were talking about the 3000gt. defently get the talon, it might weigh more, but who wants to go crusing in a 4 door!

If you're looking for a lot of stock power, then the VR-4 is your best bet. However, the 2g eclipses look SO much better IMO. Plus, the turbo eclipses can be just as fast and even much faster than a vr-4 with just a few upgrades. If I was in your position, I'd save up a little more and buy a GSX/GST, cause it'd be well worth it.

OK, in all seriousness, there are pros and cons to owning a VR-4. The pros are pretty obvious: exclusivity, the fun of having a car with a numbered plaque on the dash, all the power-enhancing fun of any of the DSMs, and the fun of having a total sleeper to boot. You can carry your friends in the back seat, too. Plus, it's the 1G engine hardware, which offers a better upgrade path, IMHO.

The negatives are that the VR-4 weighs more than the E/L/Ts, some parts (such as the exhaust system) require custom or rare parts, and to get the ball rolling you have to invest in a couple of things that are more expensive than the 1G (such as the intercooler).

All that said, I wouldn't trade mine for an E/L/T at all. The Talon is a great car and all that, I just dig the VR-4.

Yes go with talon over gsx just because you can get the talon for so much cheaper. And nevermind the vr4
