out of those two go with the skunk2 it sounds awesome and has the most hp gains out of the two.
The greddy sounds horrible it is the worst exhaust I have ever heard. I currently have the apexi ws2 on my 96se and it sounds pretty good but could be a little louder. I will post pics when I can.

how much can i find the skunk2 for?
how about custom piping and just a muffler? is that a good set up, and which muffler?

get a full catback.... but if you were to get the muffler, get something by tanabe, apexi n1, or 5zigen...whicheever you prefer. doing a custom piping is a lot cheaper than buying a complete set but i heard from someone, it's not good sometimes...it depends on the people who does it too... check out modacar.com

*****DO NOT*******
Buy a muffler and have a custom made catback. You will loose HP. There is actual engineering that is in the process of making a catback exhaust check out tprmag.com and there is a dyno test on all of the major exhaust's and you can see the difference in hp. Bottom line you get what you pay for. If you shop around you can get the skunk2 shipped to your door for 460.00. I got my apexi ws2 for 399.00 shipped.

i've heard good things about the Skunk2, i don't have one but out of those two i'd go with Skunk2 just cuz i've heard good things about it!

woah woah hold on.. engineering into a catback exhaust system? i'd think the only thing that would matter is keeping a fairly straight design and having the piping mandrel bent... after that.. i don't see much of a difference

Well then could you explain why exhaust systems like pace setter, obx, tsudo, cause you to loose hp or maybe gain 1 hp to the wheels. because they are just slapping together a look alike to throw on to the market without dynoing it and sucker people into buying because it is cheaper. If it were so easy to extract hp out of a motor with exhaust than nobody would ever buy a brand name catback. If you believe in companys like the one's listed above I can make you an exhaust that will give you 50 hp to the wheels and it will only cost you 10 dollars. Thn if you paint you windshield wipers red or white that is another 10 hp. :)

Greddy sounds like a stock exhaust that some one is flooring all the time pfftt ...pffttt...pffttt or kind of like an exhaust leak My friend has the greddy evo on his 240sx and it just sounds horrible he thinks it is the biggest waste of money.

I am not trying to dis on anybody or anything just giving my oppinion with first hand expierience. But the dyno results at tprmag.com show which exhaust is the best for power. My friends is the first gen evo I have not heard the evo2.
majinvegeta290
05-23-2004, 03:11 PM
The first gen Evo gives a shit load of power at low end and mid. Exhaust such as the Apexi N1 lack at low end but gives major high end for endurance

thanks guys that tprmag.com really helps...which is louder, the evo or the n1? because thoes are the main 2 i am looking at right now?

my friend has Intake, Headers and the N1 on this Integra and it it screams when he steps on it. Sometimes we can't even hear the radio. The EVO has a deep-toned sound. And personally, I think both sounds really nice. I also like the look of the N1 but I like the EVO's power at low and mid range.

go for it! it's just like the EVOI but with stainless steel. any choice won't be a bad choice unless you make ur car go "bean" style... lol. chrome rims, with wheel sticking out, custom made magnaflo exhaust, car raised up, raiders stickers, flames decal...lol

alright, i'm going to try again.. could someone please explain to me what 'technology' goes into making the exhaust system? is it the length of the pipe? where it goes along the car? what type of bending is used (mandrel?) that's all i can really think of.. anyone care to enlighten me?

i think its BS. and the quality of the welds/material/bends is whats important... as well as matching the size with your engines power.... and regardless of how much engineering goes itno this exhaust it wont matter if you dont have CAI/Headers/Cat to go with it *all properly selected*

yeah, that's exactly what i was thinking.. as long as the pipe is mandrel bent, tig welded, and 304 ss it should be all good.. i'm thinking 2.25 for a fairly unmodded car eh?

05-24-2004, 09:31 PM
you are both right with the i/h/e but it matter's also where the bends take place where the mufflers are mounted or too much backpressure or not enough. By the way a short ram intake will give you better throttle respone and more hp vs the cold air. Just take a look at the dynos at www.tprmag.com they speak for themselves. look at how much of a joke the v2 is
