Cold Air Intake

im not wise into the whole intake system of vehicles, what would adding a cold air intake do to a 4.3 vortec? if i got the intake system put in, would it be best to follow up with some headers?.

The best followup is cat back exhaust. A y-pipe would be the next, and finally headers. Y-pipe/headers at the same time is cool too.

Thing is headers on a 4.3 are hella tought to install and people like to do it last, seeing as you dont gain as much from the other two. Stock headers are good till about 300HP.
