New Shocks and Fuel Pump

Hi,

I'm a newbie Suburban owner. In fact, it's my first ever GM product! I just purchased a 2001 Suburban K1500 LT with 85000 miles. I am pretty happy with it except for a couple issues:

1. The driver side front shock squeaks horribly. Drives you nuts if you don't have the radio on. I found some take-off Bilsteins from a 2000-2003 Z71 Tahoe. Will these fit on my Suburban? If so, what difference can I expect between their performance and my current ride? Much stiffer?

2. The fuel pump really screams after warmed up. I don't notice it so much on short trips, but after 100 miles or so, as soon as I roll down the window and listen I can hear it whining quite loudly. I can't hear it while on the road. Is it failing, or is this normal? I've heard both. I'm not sure if it just started doing it, but I didn't notice it for the first 1000 miles or so.

Thanks in advance for your help! It is greatly appreciated. Feel free to respond directly as well to [email protected]
