Wow! Japan looks like a place I'd love to call home. It's like a carnival. I've read the statements below the pics and IMHO I think those old cars are sweet. Sure the fender flares are weird with the deep dish rims and tires that barely fit and slammed to the ground, but I bet those cars drift awesome. And, isn't that primarily what Japanese car enthusiasts do? I guess people get all confused cuz they think everybody in the world thinks in terms of 1320. Personally, I don't much care about drag racing. Just my :2cents: though. It makes me proud to own a Japanese car (even if it does look like hell) :lol2:

The vans are about as gay as they come..

There are a few cars there that are cool and clean, but FEW. I like older cars. :)

i think its awesome. its like a scene outta akira. bike gangs on modified/completely custom built bikes. extremely weird futuristic looking vans, and over the top mad max looking old school cars.

i dunno if anyone knows this, but the older the car, the more expensive the license, insurance, and tax is. for these guys to even keep late 70s/early 80s cars is ridiculous, and the generally good condition they are in is amazing. have you ever tried to find a cressida in good shape here in the states? or ever seen one modified here?

some of the cars were damned nice with the fender flares...and there was a lot of good photography there (if anyone noticed)

the photography was anything someone can do, 99% of those pictures were taken with the camera on the floor.

My friend had an old Cressida that was in MINT shape, and had the same two tone brown colour that the one in the pics has. It was gay as hell though..
I think the one in the pic was a two door if I remember correctly though.. My friends was 4 door. (I'm probably not remembering very well right now) :smokin:

i had a tan 4 door cressida with a manual transmission. i put it by my friends house for a while, and it got impounded. considering i got the car for free, i doubt ill ever pay the impound fee to get it back. same thing with my 85 celica. its impounded too, same reason, sitting up too long

Cressidas have straight twin cam 6 (FR). JDM=turbo... like I said, they drift. Granted the vans are crazy. I agree that those tail pipes are lame too. But, what about "pimp my ride". Personally, I've never seen it, but heard about the dj setups in backs of vans, a stock 4 cyl. must-stink with hand placed diamonds on shifter knob and hairdryers or whatever in trunk... jeez. I'd still love to go to Japan just to check it out. BTW... I think everybody's hatchie is sweet. Sometimes I wish I had one just to have backseats so I can have others come along on my rally excursions. That's why it's hard for me to part with my CRX... it's been to some places only jeeps could go. WTF?! I just saw a van with one of those over the top winged to the exterme kits on it driving around Auckland, if you think they look weird and funky in the pics, they look even weirder and funkier in real life.
