Kickdown Cable Question. TH350

I have a TH350 Tranny in my 71, my old kickdown cable is looking kinda bad so i got a new one, anyhow, when i take the bolt out that holds it in the tranny, is tranny fluid gonna spew out? I dont know alot about transmissions, i kinda thought it would so I waited tell i know for sure.

if the trannsmission is full of fluid, then yep

no there shouldnt be any squirting out. you might get a tiny bit hat comes out of something but its not going to be presurized or anything like that. just make sure the old seal thing comes out when you take it out and that you put one back on with the new one.

well i know if you pull the dipstick tube out fluid will run all over hell, and seeing how the kickdown cable hole and dipstick hole are about level with each other, i think you'll lose a bit of fluid

you shouldnt when you pull the dipstick tube either. cuz the actual diop stick should stick in further than the tube goes and thats how it gets its reading. you might but that should be alot either. like i said youll probably get some but its not going to be much.

true, but you also check your tranny fluid while it's running and the fluid level is lower. ya gotta remember that a trannsmission holds probly atleast 2 gallons of fluid if not more, and the actuall pan holds less than a gallon

yeah true. but i have had to change my cable myself cuz right above where it meats the trans mine broke. and i dont remember having much fluid coming out.
