ok theres 2 tranny fluid lines that go to the front to the radiator and i have no clue how to get em off. one fitting is visible and the other is right next to the tranny and its not visible from underneath. soooo do i have to drop the tranny and then take off the lines or the other way around?

4onFloor
05-19-2004, 10:52 PM
700R4's dont have a vacuum modulator, so you dont need that vacuum line anymore
korndogg
05-19-2004, 10:52 PM

although depending on what year your 700R4 is, you may want to install a torque converter lock up switch so you dont burn it up
korndogg
05-19-2004, 11:01 PM

05-19-2004, 11:02 PM

05-19-2004, 11:04 PM
well you can plug it the old fashion way and put a screw or a small bolt in the vacuum line, or go the parts store and get the little cap that plugs vacuum ports

cant honestly tell ya, i've always heard that they will burn up without a lock up switch, but i think that's mainly if you do a lot of highway driving
korndogg
05-19-2004, 11:12 PM
yeah but im talking about a lock up converter..not a switch. im not getting a lock up converter so i wouldnt need a switch anyway.

uhh it's been a while since i've been inside a 700R4. but i think there's a plunger in the front of the valve body that goes into the front pump with wire's running to a square connector on the outside of the transmission. seems like you jump 2 of those posts or apply 12v to one of em to get it to lock up. what most people dont know, is that on fuel injected engines, you can lock up the torque converter by jumping 2 terminals on the service port. cant remember which ones tho
