What was Honda thinking?

for some reason Honda made the alternator on my 2000 LS unbelieveably hard to take off and put back in. I was putting the AEM pullys on my car and everything was fine except for getting the stupid thing inand out. then when i found out that the pully was rubbing on the alternator i was really hoping that i wouldn't have to take the alternator back out. thankfully i didn't, but i don't know. Has anyone else had this problem before? But on the other hand my pullys are great and now all my basic bolt-ons' are complete!
