Timing Belt

Well tomorrow is my 60K service day. I was wondering if I should get my Timing belt replaced as well for $375. How can I find out the health of my timing belt without pulling the whole vehicle apart? Suggestions?

If you have a +2000 isuzu I would wait at least another 30k. But if you do a lot of heavy towing and offroading then I might swap it out.

I think your manual state change at 90k. Read the manual to be sure.

There's no way of inspecting the t-belt without yanking a cover. No inspection door on the 3.2/3.5. Wait until 100K+ miles & do the t-belt, tensioner & water pump all at once. All those items are behind the t-belt & require the same tear-down. Many 'Zu owners have reported that the t-belt looked new at 100K miles. Supposedly isuzu classifies the 1998+ 3.2/3.5 as interference engines, but no one has ever had (reported) one with smashed valves & pistons. Some guys over at the "wire" board did t-belt changeouts, had the valve timing WAY off & they didn't smash- just didn't run right.
