Hello, everyone. I have a 2001 Chevy Silverado K1500, my problem is that I have had this truck in the service dept. for the past two years trying to locate a noise inside the cab. The service dept. has worked on and replaced parts on the truck more than 6 appointments. Still the problem has not been located and I am 3 months away from running out of factory warranty. I don't have faith that the truck will ever be fixed and would like some suggestions on what I should do next. I plan to call general motors, any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

as long as your problem is documented, it can come back as a good will warranty repair. sounds to me liekt he noise you are describing is the intermediate steering shaft...makes noises when turning???? if so, the repair is just a grease kit and a plug to put in the shaft, and all is back to normal. if not, check all your weatherstrips, or take a service advisor out on a road test and get them to listen when it is happeneing....

Hi there, I have a 2000 chev 1500 silverado. I have this annoying noise coming from the passenger side of cab from under the dash. Took a service man out and he could figure out what it was. It only does this when you step on the gas and go into passing gear. After revs go down the noise stops. Is there something rubbing or is there something else?

well, the only thing that i can think of is the blower motor as far as i can remember. The only other few things that i can suugest: tweeter (speaker)has fallen out of position.....a heat shield is loose, and that coudl be your rattling at certain revs....the more the truck shakes, the more it rattles...
i would more than likely say that it is the heat shields.... go to a dealer and ask them about it.. or do it yourself... part# is 15164621
and you will need 2 of them to go around the heat shield on the MUFFLER :D
best of luck
