Has anyone changed this? Is it easy to do if not how much can it cost?

Give us a hint on what year. I Did one on a 1989. Took all day and I broke the nipple off the heater core trying to get the heater hose off.

That would help oops. 95 Park Ave Ultra. I heard the whole dash comes of for this, did you do the same. Also I've got quotes ranging from $140-$290 for the evaperator core itself. Any idea if those are fair prices. And when you mean all day do you mean like 8-10 hours, that sounds like a bitch.
Thanks for your help

You can price the parts at http://www.gm-parts-dealer.com/parts.htm.
The evaporator is removed from under the hood although there are a few bolts that have to be removed under the dash. I don't have my time guide book here to give an estimate. Of course you would have to evacuate and recharge the system after the repair.
What made my job so bad was the broken heater core. THAT comes out from under the dash so I had both sides of the firewall apart.
