Ok I have a 95 Talon TSI with upgraded turbo, fuel injectors, and fuel pump. I also have a boost controller, boost timer, and an apexi fuel controller, and the stock gauges. How do I use all this to get the most out of my car without destroying it. I bought the car with all these components which was probably a bad idea since I don't know what Im doing. What settings should I set everything to and what should I look for in the gauges? Should I always run the car on the low boost setting unless I want to drive it hard? Is it ok if the air/fuel gauge always jumps around from rich to lean? Do I need to do anything with the apexi fuel controller? Thanks for you help.

first off....what's a boost timer? lol :)
and second off....you basically want to 'tune' your car by adjusting the apexi fuel controller to keep the AF gauge in the middle (stoich). Like, if it's rich under 3500 rpms, adjust to lean out a bit -%, if it's lean up top, adjust to add fuel +%. What type of fuel controller is this? an s-afc, regualr afc, etc.
what kind of turbo is it upgraded with? i'm sure turbo larger than stock should be efficient enough to the 16 psi range at least, depending on how much larger it is. I don't really know mitsu. turbos so i'm just guessing.
do you have an egt guage? or aftermarket boost gauge? i know i read they were the stock gauges, but most ppl will get an aftermarket boost gauge with a boost controller. at least ppl who do things right will.
hope this helps a little

Man u are doin the right thing. I mean i am no pro, but the only advice i can give u is to read up on all those parts u said came with the car. Go to the nearest car shop and try and get some books, or go to a racing website and order the books from there. I was once in your situation too and that realy helped me out! sorry if i wasnt any help to you! Later

hehe..its called a turbo timer right not a boost timer..doh..thats what I was afraid of when posting to this forum...Iv learned alot from this site and it took me a while to sign in and start asking questions..but im glad i did..the fuel manager is an Apexi Super AFC ...I can't seem to find the sheet I had with all the aftermarket parts in my car..but I wanna say its a 16G turbo because that sounds familiar..i also have just the stock gauges..I've been doing alot of research on these kind of things..I don't have any friends into this really so I'm on my own..guys at work know alot about cars..but they all drive BMW's and Mercedes which are a little out of my price range now :shakehead ..so what other lil advice yall can throw my way I will really appreciate it..

well right on. it never hurts to ask questions. better to learn from someone then to make the same mistakes i guess.
Do you know how many psi you're at right now? That thing should be pretty fast when you start fiddling with the s-afc.

On the boost controller, its set at low boost and all the way on high..the boost gauge shows that it gets close to 20 in the yellow on the left so I'm assuming its running close to 20 psi..but that sounds like alot so I'm not sure ..how can I tell what its running as? When I bought the car I was told it put down 270 whp which sounds about right since it has alot of the stage 1 dsm parts from dsmtuners stage 1 (http://www.dsmtuners.com/tuning-guide/2gturbo/stage1power.php) and that guide says that the setup puts out 300hp. This car is a blast to drive :naughty:
