Hood latch problems

in my 1995 prix, i cant open the hood using the latch by myself. so what i have to do is have one person pulling the latch up and down, while having another person pulling up on the hood to get it open. is there something i can do to get this to work when i pull on the latch? somethings gotta be loose or something that's causing this. any help would be great.

well start out by buying some penetrating oil/PB blaster and spray down the latch to get all the dirt and road crap out of there and see if that helps. If that doesnt work, it looks like you'll be buying a new hood latch....
