I'm not sure what headers to go with, shorty or Long Tubeon my 90 GT?

Can you guys give me reccomendations & tell me what the differances are?

Long tube headers tend to be a little better for performance, whereas shortys are normally louder. Long tube headers would be best if you where doing more to the engine than just exhaust and maybe cia k&n or something small like that. If you get into cams, head work, huge change in intake, ect, then I would suggest long tubes. The more your engine sucks in the more it has to blow out. But headers wont necessarily "make or break" your car. If you are just looking for good sounding exhaust then I would suggest shortys. Not only will they be easier and faster to install, they will be a little louder and you can get them as a "stock replacement."

I have never heard a shorty header car louder than one with LT headers. If you have the money for LT and the new h-pipe definetly go the extra mile. But if money is tight I can understand equi-shorties.

I have been around race tracks all my life and have never heard a pump gas car as loud as the last one I helped build. 84 firebird with hedman block huggers. way too loud. and im used to dirt track cars comin by me sideways at 7000 rpms.

X-pipe is generally better then H-pipe right?

X-pipe tends to give more torque but also a raspy sound. If you want that real deep ford tone go with a H-pipe.

Don't mean to change the topic on this thread, but i noticed that BBK makes an H-pipe for their LT headers, does that ease the instalation any?

im 100 bucks away from gettin exhaust from headers to catback. im in the same boat as u are. i was thinking of gettin bbk LT with the bbk LT H pipe and 2 chamber cats. my friend landon has LT with a custom H pipe and it sounds badass...whatever u want to do

LT will cost u about an extra bill but will sound a little better and perform a little better. its up to u
