Having some problems......

Hey guys, I was wondering if i could have some help... Last fall driving back and forth to the cape ('86 Z-28 305 h.o. 5 speed, rochester quadrajet 4bbl) before snowfall, I discovered a crack in my radiator. I wasn't going to be home for a few weeks, so I decided the use the easy fix. I used a tube of alumaseal here, alumaseal there..... Big mistake... Lots of overheating, noisy waterpump... you name it... So I flushed my cooling system... Well, What i thought flushed it... I drained the radiator, filled it with water, and repeated about 3 times. Then ran the car with the hose in the fill cap for about an hour or so, till it was pretty much circulating dasani bottled water, hahaha.... well anyways, I put the car back on the road, and i notice when i sit at lights, She gets up to about 220 or so.... If i let it idle a little long, she'll get about 3/4 of the way up there. One time i let it idle jumping a car and it was in the red. For now i just turn the heat on to vent it off, but when I'm on a decent road, no stop and go, it seems to air cool pretty well. I tested the connection at the electric fan, and it works... I even hear it sometimes when i leave the key on but the engine off... I changed the thermostat, wasnt the problem. I change my oil more than often, and it is never milky or anything. My waterpump makes some noise when i first start the car in the mornings, but no coolant is ever anywhere??? Isnt there a weephole or something? I'm doubting it's a clog, more or less hoping... I'm going to change the waterpump this week probabl, and put in a nice bumpy cam..... I have all the Zexrex shit to flush the system, but if there is a clog, would this work?

it might have air in the system, a thermostat wont open from hot vapors. check to make sure your fan is coming on at the right temp, it should kick on at about 220*, when the fan switch wears out the spring gets weak and turns on the fan at a random temps. check your lower radiator hose too see if it's soft or squishy, it could be collapsed on the inside.

sooo youre still running the radiator with the ghetto rig? i would make fixing that a top priority, were talking about the stock radiator to begin with plus a mess of problems, thats not good.

I have a new radiator, hoses, thermostat, etc.... About this fan, how would I know when it turns on? Wheres the switch? Like i said, my water pump squeals when its cold, and a little whenever i start it up, almost sounds like a quick belt slipping.....

Your car isnt an original 86 5.0L HO is it?? Like it used to be just a normal 305 and you upgraded it or did it come from the factory with the HO??
