None of the door locks work on my 79 riv.
I suspect the relay, does anyone know where it is on the car?
thanks

What a coincidence! I logged on so that I could post a question about power door locks and your post is at the top!
I have a '95 Riv, but it is possible that you are likely having the same trouble I am having. I have had intermittent operation with the driver's side door lock, but I seem to have remedied it by manually cycling the lock handle. The passenger side lock started doing the same thing, but I cannot remedy it that way. It consistently does not work. I took the door panel off and the solenoid mechanism is right next to the part of the door that engages the striker assembly on the car body. I can see most everything if I use a mirror, but to change it out looks like it would be like assembling a ship in a bottle.
Does anyone know an easy way to change out these solenoid actuator assemblies?
PS... I can hear the solenoids cycling when I push the button and the lock handle will try to move, but it only moves a tiny bit. Does yours make any noise at all when you push your buttons? If not then the problem may lay elsewhere in that it is not getting power to the actuator.

Well what should happen is when unlocking the drivers door the passenger door should pop up as well, with no effort to turn the key. When shifting from park both doors should lock, and unlock shifting back.
On the door pannel by the seat controls there is a lock/unlock switch on both doors. The door key ,shifter and switches all fire into a common lock/unlock relay that you should hear opperate but it is very quiet, this relay is hidden somewhere under the dash. All power seems to be present at the switches but no click from the relay. where is the relay.I can find heated glass.antenna, level and other relays any Ideas for the power lock relay location so I can check this.

The relay for the power doors can be found underneath the rear Seat, LH Side (Rear Relay Center Area).
Simply remove the seat (no screws, just pull) and you can see the relay on the wall facing forward.
Good Luck!
