Hey what do you think of piaa headlights and fogs? Are they worth the price? If so which ones, super plasma, etc.. or should I just buy the 20$ xenon lights??
kenchan
01-17-2002, 09:42 PM
good quality. you dont have to replace them every 2months like those junk ones. :D

yea but I want the fogs and headlights to match, someone told me to get the super plasmas.. deo you know about them? anygood?
kenchan
01-17-2002, 09:57 PM
you can always get the superwhites from piaa for both which will match colors. dont forget the clearance (wedge) lights. you need to change that too.

PIAA offers the Super Plasmas in:
H4 for your headlights
H3 for your fogs (new)
"wedge" bulbs (new) for your clearance/parking light and for your side markers.
PIAA's are definately the best quality and last way longer. The Super Plasmas are as close as you can get to HID "color", but are only as bright as any other halogen bulb (ie no where even near the brightness of real HID)

Ive had my Piaa's for almost 7 months now and they are still going, strong as the day I bought them. Great quality and the best bulbs you can buy imo. Another great thing about them over cheap shit bulbs is they wont burn out your wireing harness. You get what you pay for.

I am currenty running the PIAA plasmas I think. The purplish ones's? Yeah, those are quite a pretty penny but they are top of the line. They look sooo good on the G20. It will resemble the bulbs in the Lexus's and Acura's.:hehe: Very nice.:D I went with some cheap bulbs before and they lasted me like 2 or 3 months. I paid like 80$ for mine and I've had them on for like 5 or 6 months now and they are still going strong to. They are backed by a manufacture warranty too I think.

The best thing is to get the real thing, then u really dont have to worry about them blowing out, plus the coverage is soooo much better.. I love my real xenon's

Yeah, Im running PIAA Xtreme Whites in my headlights and fogs with no problems. I love the upgrade namely because I do a lot of driving at night. For a $100, its probably the best non preformance upgrade that Ive done. Buy them from Luke (www.digitalracer.com) he would appreciate the business....

Yep, just bought 2 pairs from Luke. He's very easy to do business with! :) He also has some good prices so check him out.

Well, from experience I can tell you:
-You will pay $20 for cheap bulbs.
-They WILL burn out.
-You WILL scratch your head and buy another $20 set.
-They WILL burn out.
-More headscratching.
-Now you will buy $50 bulbs.
-They WILL burn out and you will notice your harnesses are finally melted.
-You will replace the harnesses and wiring and buy PIAA's and tell this same story to someone a few months down the road who is thinking of buying $20 bulbs.
That route will have you spending $200+ in a 6 month time period. Buy the PIAA's and forget about it!!

I agree. I have had the same experience. Plus, he didn't include the price to replace the harnesses which for me was over $300 from the stealership. Just buy the PIAA's and you will be glad you did down the road.

why not skip all the burning and replacing and get a real HID kit, they are to be used 2000+ hours, which is about the lifetime of the vehicle for most people...take a pair of piaa 50-80 dollars times 6 pairrs, and you get a real HID with twice the light output
Get a HID if you have extra 400 bucks in your wallet now, dont waste tiem going through other bulbs

I just changed my opinion on PIAA's as of this rainy morning on the way to work I found out that my car had a black eye. ;) I paid muthaf*ckin like 80$ for mine and I have only had them on for about 1/2 a year now. I'm pretty pissed b/c I'm thinking tha cheap ones would have lasted that long maybe. :angryfire Does anybody know if you can get the same bulbs as the QX4's for our G20's?

mrc- hummm... did you breath on it? i was EXTREMELY careful not to let the bulb touch ANYTHING when I installed mine. also, are you turning off your headlight switch before you shut off the engine and start your car? piaa recommends to do that too as fluctuations in the power can shorten life.
i'd say these will last at least 2 yrs.

They said the QX4 was HID.
The G20 uses halogen light bulbs and is not HID.
You would have to get an HID kit to have that look and brightness of a QX4.

I have PIAA's on my ride and I noticed that my wedges (168), which are plasma blue, at first were almost too blue. But after a week or two they seemed to have faded a little. I don't think my eyes simply adjusted to them, but regardless I like them better now!
