86 tail lights

i just bought an 86 4x4 xtra cab. all lights work except for the tail lights. headlights work fine, but i still cant drive it at night! dont really know how complicated a problem like this can be (although is cant imagine its much), so if anyone has any advice or tips id appreciate it.

well of course check the fuse which I am sure you have done already. Do the brake lights work? Do the running lights up front work (the little amber ones not the headlights) use your light and see if you are getting any juice to the rear light sockets, check the test light ground with a known good power(like a lite that does work) to find a good ground then check the sockets of the bulbs that do not lite up.
