battery light

Ok, my alt. took a shit on me and I got it changed today. Now my battery light still comes on, but its really dim and goes away under revs. What the hell? My belt is tense and the battery cables are secure. Anyone think I should be worried? It better not be the new alt...I'll be pissed.

If you have a voltmeter...check it at the battery
should get about 13.2 - 14.4 at 2000rpm....
How old is the battery ??? Everything maybe working , but it is not taking a charge....
Advance Auto/AutoZone can check the "complete system" for free!!!

Last I checked the battery was good. The only thing I can think of is that the Bad alt. just killed the battery.
