'98 Malibu Ignition Lock Cyl Going for 7th Time!!

I've had a strange situation for the last 3 or 4 weeks. The car starts fine the first time in the morning, then if I'm running errands, barely starts the second time, and then is fine all day after that. I was mystified.
So, this morning, I stopped for gas, got back in the car (2nd engine start) and the damn "Theft System" light came on (which then requires you to wait 10-15 mins. until the security system clears itself - then the car will start). How embarrassing. Folks behind me were NOT happy.
Was OK the rest of the day, but since I still have GMPP until the end of Aug., guess I'll be seeing the dealer again shortly.
No joke, this is the 7th lock cylinder that's gone bad. I just can't believe that GM hasn't bothered to ever fix this issue. You think I'll be buying another one?
Can't wait to shop for an '05 Accord in December, which is what the plan is, earlier if the POS acts up a lot out of warranty (Sept. - Nov.).
