Engine Swap

I have just replaced my engine and i am having some problems. I have it in and everything bolted up. No problems there but it wont start! I dont have any power to anything. My headlights or cd player. nothing will work. The battery is good and charged. I am lost. when i put the key in i get the door chime but as soon as i turn the key everything starts clicking and the gauges go crazy. from what i can tell nothing seems to be grounded out. any help will be great. thanks
