Ok i just recently got a 93 Eclipse GSX. I want to know what i should do to it to make it run as good as possible for the least amount of money. I was looking at getting an EVO III turbo(only want $569.95 for it) and also a Apexi N1 exhaust. I also have some other little things that i want to get just for looks like a cheap body kit. I want to know if that turbo would be any good and also if not what to get and also some cheap upgrades to make it run better. This is my first true tuner car to customize i love this car though. Any help would be great.

here before you decide to upgrade the turbo do some other stuff first...

Intake and filter kit
Hard intercooler piping (either keep the 1st gen BOV or upgrade!)
exhaust (either get 2.5" or 3" but if you get 3" you will probably get boost creep unless you port your O2 housing! 3" will be better for the 16g!)
Boost Gauge
Boost Controller

Step 2:
S-AFC 1 or 2 (i like 2 better)
550cc or 660cc injectors (better luck with the 660's if you plan to go with the EVO 16g)
255LPH Walbro fuel pump
Evo 16g Turbo
Some Type of FMIC (front mount intercooler)

i agree, intake is very important because even if you upgrade the turbo, it can't breathe well with restricted airflow. exhaust is very important too for less backpressure on the turbo. those are the first 2 mods i did on my car and that is what i recommend to you.

if $$ is no problem get the 1st stuff done all at the same time, but if you got $$ issues, do the intake filter and boost gauge first, the gauge being the most important 1st mod. then exhaust and IC pipes. basicy take care of the flow problem then flow more... ;)

You own an 11 year old beast. Congratulations. Now the first thing you need to do before throwing any and every mod you can afford on there is to replace all belts including the timing belt. Replace all fluids. REPLACE THE HARMONIC DAMPENER. These things will save your ass in the long haul.
When you're done with that, you can start looking into other more fun things. Some easy stuff to take care of right off the bat: get a 2g exhaust manifold and o2 housing. They're better than the 1g's. Keep your 1G BOV and crush it. You can also do the free mods. Look on the VFAQ website and they'll tell you how it's done.

if it ain't broke...

the t-belt alone is going to cost over 600 bucks [not doing it yourself]. just make sure it has been done every 60k miles....

All that stuff is your personal preference really.. a lot of people here do however like the Apex'i exhaust and the Greddy Type S BOV. As for the electronic or manual boost controller, that's all up to you bud.

Also look at upgrading the intake and intake filter K&N has had great reviews. I have the Greddy Type S and am in the process of tuning it but so far love it. Boost controller is personal preference, i am not one to get out of my car and pop the hood eight times to change the MBC so i got an EBC. But definately intake, upper intercooler pipes, BOV, exhaust...check this site for upgrading paths http://dsmtuner.com/tuning-guide/

Also I'd stay away from a body kit, just my .02, if you want a diff look get like the 98 front bumper conversion and oem side skirts... but then again that might come out to be the same $ as a aftermarket kit.

I'm trying to get oem sideskirts for my 99.... anyone know where to get them for a reasonable price? Anyone selling them? Heh. Silver preferred.

.

That should be a real straightforward swap for his 1g. ;)

Yeah body kit is last thing im goin to get after i have done almost every mod to the engine and everything else. It just a thing i wanted to add to impress all the f@$king posers at my school who just add a tip to their stock exhaust and but a body kit on their car and then say their car is awesome.
