is their any headlight upgrades to make the old bmw headlights to make them look like the new ones with the plastic over the front or would headlight covers do this and not just cover the headlights any ideas would be helpful.

There are aftermarket places that sell the shaded covers. Try ebay too, there's a lot of after markket places advertising there. But buyer beware, most of the crap you find might not fit or be cheap grade stuff made somewhere foreign, like the people's republic and so on. My question is why would you want to do that? plastic covers just fog and or haze up over time.

Hi REGGIECMANAGEMENT:

So you bought that 525i, cool! Now are you talking about the new Xenon's headlights or just the covers or both? :dunno:

A good place to look for aftermarket BMW items is: "BAVARIAN autosport" Their webite is: www.bavauto.com :)

I wish you the best and hope this helps!

Yes, definitely try Bavarian Autosport (I've ordered from them for years and they are an EXCELLENT company made up of genuine BMW enthusiasts). Their catalog has some things not on their website--they now have the angel eyes rings (mimicking the '01 5-Series and '02 7-Series) that can be retrofitted to earlier exposed-headlight BMW's. They also DID have a true-xenon upgrade kit (costing about $700) for the ellipsoid headlight BMW's (including the E34 5-Series), but I don't see that anymore. PIAA xtreme white bulbs are probably a solid (and much cheaper) alternative anyway, and I'll probably get them for my 535i.

I too love the headlights-behind-glass look of the late nineties BMW's, but the 1989-1995 5-Series isn't really designed in a way that any such retrofit would look good, in my opinion. I'd rather enjoy the way my car looks now, and save for a 1997+.
