I bought a 91 Honda Civic 1.5 Liter with a manual. I was driving around and the electrical stuff (lights, radio, and clock) shut of. The rpm's said zero, but I was going 45 mph and the engine was turning over. As I slowed down it shut of and wouldn't start. It jumped started, then I brought it to the shop. The alternetor was checked out and it was fine, the battery and terminals were all replaced. Somebody said it might be the ECU, but I'm not sure what it is?

What you can do is test it with a know good ecu. If that doesn't work then you know it isn't the ecu.

my car sometimes doesn't start, but sfter a while it does. Somebody told me it might be because my starter has to cool down. Could it be something bigger.

ok to find out if your battery is bad or your alt. is bad start the car and while it is running take the positive post off the battery if it dies then its the alternator if it still runs then the alternator is still good

Sounds like it might be the Main Relay

B/f replacing an ECU or alternator, do the battery test (remove positive connection). Be sure to check every wire connection to the main harness and every ground. One short could cause a lot of problems. Oh yeah, gotta make sure valve cover ground is tight or car won't start...

You might want to check your main relay, sometimes its that and not the ecu. These problems can cost alot of money, Good luck and let us know what happends

When Main Relays get really bad I heard they will turn the car off when driving. Usually its just it won't start. I guess yours took a shit on you.
