whats a strut bar do?

not much. It stiffens the front suspension a bit.

^^^^ Its a good thing if you have tons of power like larger shot of NOS, supercharger, or turbo. On a small N/A 4 cyl. motor it dosnt make a huge diff unless you are into autocross or autox.
