What part makes your engine roar the loudest?

I was just wondering, I have an AEM Cold Air Intake, and besides that what else makes the engine sound real furocious? Headers Maybe? I mean what under a grand can make your engine sound like a mean motherfucker?

straight pipe and catalytic converter removal.

Just take off the headers completely...

definitely exhaust

Aggressive race cams make my car lope menacingly at idle.

Also roars a lot louder from 5500 to 7800 rpms now.

if you already have an exhaust then a header will help some, but not really at idle
